The commune of Auderghem/Oudergem, one third of which is covered by the Forêt de Soignes/Zoniënwoud and other green spaces such as Woluwe Parc/Park, Seny Parc/Park, J. Massart Garden and the Rouge-Cloître/Rokloosterpark, is one of Brussels-Capital Region's most pleasant residential communes. |
Huge properties of yesteryear have given way to elegant neighbourhoods filled with villas, which are particularly sought after by executives and international officials.
Due to Auderghem/Oudergem's proximity to the southern access to the city, several metro stations have been built, and a series of new offices and shopping centres has cropped up by the entry to the Namur autoroute.
It is an attractive place to live. The lovely neighbourhoods of villas bordering on the forest rub shoulders with the older and more modest neighbourhoods, which are currently being renovated
The commune of Auderghem/Oudergem covers 9 km2. It has a population of 30,086, or a population density of 3,331 inhabitants per km2 (as at 1st January 2008).
