Buildings/land/planning

It is said that the Belgians are born to build a home. The same is true for companies, who have to find the best location to meet their specific needs.

The Brussels-Capital Region has many services and tools to help them, generally available through the S.D.R.B. (Société de Développement pour la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale).

A partner in the economic development of Brussels-Capital Region, the SDRB:

  • is responsible for facilities, amenities, and maintenance of infrastructure for accommodating companies, i.e:
    • industrial and commercial estates,
    • research parks
    • buildings for companies,
  • guides companies in their establishment or extension plans, guides them through environmental legislation, and supports them in their search for subsidies.
  • provides companies with a free computerised inventory of the land and buildings for rent or sale in the Brussels Region.

The "Companies" section of the SDRB site provides lots of information on the real-estate infrastructure that your company needs.

This section of the site provides full information on this subject. Its purpose is to enable you to:

- examine the opportunities for setting up your business in Brussels:

  • business parks
  • industrial estates
  • how to find a location in Brussels

- work through the real-estate regulations that apply to companies:

  • regional planning regulations
  • the  regional development plan
  • the land zoning plan
  • planning permission
  • the planning certificate
  • specific legislation
